How Spurr works
Every group and event on Spurr includes a verification status and a last-verified date. We use source-backed information: official church websites, pages, ministry pages, and direct leader confirmation.
When you see “User Verified,” it means an admin or ministry leader confirmed it against an official source. “Leader Verified” means the ministry leader confirmed it directly. “User Confirmed” means community members have attended and reported accurate information.
We use structured trust signals instead of star ratings: attendance confirmations, accuracy reports, active status checks, and newcomer-friendliness signals. No anonymous public reviews.
How verification works
We checked an official public source (website, university page) or an admin confirmed it.
A ministry leader or contact directly confirmed the information.
Community members have attended and reported the information as accurate.
Information was found or submitted but has not been independently confirmed.
Previously verified but the information may have changed.
What communities are listed?
Spurr includes communities within historic Christian traditions: Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Protestant (mainline and evangelical), Anglican, non-denominational Christian, and interdenominational Christian organizations.
Spurr does not list LDS/Mormon, Jehovah's Witnesses, Unitarian Universalist, interfaith-only, or secular wellness groups. Theology fields are descriptive and source-backed, not judgmental.
